On November 6th a group of 12 volunteers tackled two new pens for the WildCat Haven. First, there was a cougar pen that was waiting for its wire panels to be attached. The panels came in 4 by 8 ft sections and they need to be set in a dug trench, lifted into place, then nailed and wired together with hog ties (metal clips).

The process was difficult yet rewarding. The amount of work that goes into these pens is tremendous, and most of the time there are just a few workers completing them.

The other pen at the top of the hill is for a couple of bobcats that need a bigger place to call home. Volunteers spent the day unrolling and attaching welded wire screen to complete the roof and cleared tree limbs to make the task a little easier. A door frame for a lockout was built to add extra safety on entrance and exit.

Lunch was a wonderful meal of homemade veggy chili with cornbread, provided by Tisha, a WCH volunteer.

A lot of differents tasks were completed today. Many hands make for light work . We appreciate and thank the volunteers that made this day a success.

We also want to thank the WildCat Haven for their efforts in rescuing captive-born cougars, lynx, servals, bobcats and others that need a safe and comfortable home.
