Feral Cat Alley at PGE Park

Phyllis of Friends of Shelter Animals contacted POPB about the feral cat colony at PGE Park. They were planning to trap 7-10 ferals; spay/neuter and release them into the park to join the other feral cats already residing there.

POPB was asked to build some winter dens for them to keep warm in. With the help of a few volunteers, we built two large pens with a sleeping shelf, windblock and hinged top for easy access to change the hay bedding.

The PGE Park staff turned out in droves to help out. The pens were placed in low-traffic areas in the park, and a feeding station was added. We hope the cats will stay warm and cozy throughout the winter!
