The Willamette Great Dane Rescue

Foster Home Assistance!

The Willamette Great Dane Rescue needed our help! One of their fabulous foster parents needed a little repair work done.

Pat and her son have fostered dozens of animals over the years. The Willamette Great Dane rescue can always count on her to take in fosters on short notice. Her latest foster, a lovely young brindle Dane, was adopted just a few days before our project. We were happy for the chance to lend a hand.

The back porch was damaged (ok, actually, destroyed) when a rather exuberant Dane landed on it rather heavily (oops!) The dog was fine, but they needed a replacement step/landing pad so the dogs (and humans!) can safely enter and exit the yard. A team of six POPB volunteers, along with Pat and her son, started around 10 am digging postholes and laying the groundwork. By the end of the day, there was a new sturdy 6’ x 6’ deck with an awning overhead!

Many thanks to the volunteers who devoted a day’s work to this great cause!
